From October 22 to October 25, 2026, Frank Nieves, head instructor of the Institute of Budo Studies, led a four-day Ryushin Shouchi Ryu seminar in Caen, France. The event brought together approximately 20 practitioners of varying ranks and experience levels. Over the course of four days, participants studied the complete kata and kumitachi curriculum, with an emphasis on fundamental principles, technical precision, and the continued transmission of the art.
