- Please arrive with ample time to prepare for class (at least 15mins before).
- There are showers and changing rooms on location.
- All students and guests must check-in at the front desk prior to class.
Note: Kendo classes incorporate aspects of iaido, kobudo, and jodo, aiming to offer students a holistic grasp of Japanese swordsmanship in line with the principles advocated by the All Japan Kendo Federation. Similarly, iaido classes encompass elements of kendo, kobudo, and jodo to ensure a well-rounded education for practitioners, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the art.
Private Classes
Private classes are available to Institute of Budo Studies members of all levels. These classes offer the opportunity for one-on-one instruction in Japanese swordsmanship and are specifically tailored to the student’s experience, physical conditioning, and desired goals.

- Monthly Subscriptions are purchased through our website and can be canceled at anytime.
- New subscriptions are prorated and renew the 1st of every month.
- Second Family Members age 17 & under attend for free.
Introductory Class
- Prospective students are welcome to try one of each class for free.
- Registration with OM Movement and a completed AUSKF Waiver are required.
- Please wear comfortable pants and a t-shirt for class (please do not wear shorts).
OM Movement Registration
- All students and guests are required to complete the online registration form for OM Movement.

Federation Memberships
- All United States Kendo Federation– Recommended for all students as it provides liability insurance.
- Ryushin Shouchi Ryu Membership– Required for members wishing to seek rank in Ryushin Shouchi Ryu (Kobudo).
