- Please arrive with ample time to prepare for class (at least 15mins before).
- There are showers and changing rooms on location.
- All students and guests must check-in at the front desk prior to class.
Note: Kendo classes incorporate elements of iaido and kobudo to provide students with a holistic understanding of Japanese swordsmanship, reflecting the interconnected principles of traditional martial arts. Similarly, iaido classes draw from kendo and kobudo to offer practitioners a well-rounded education and deeper insight into the art.
Private Classes
Private classes are available to Institute of Budo Studies members of all levels. These classes offer the opportunity for one-on-one instruction in Japanese swordsmanship and are specifically tailored to the student’s experience, physical conditioning, and desired goals.

Introductory Class
- Prospective students are welcome to try one of each class for free.
- Registration with OM Movement and a completed AUSKF Waiver are required.
- Please wear comfortable pants and a t-shirt for class (please do not wear shorts).

- Ryushin Shouchi Ryu Membership Form (For Kobudo Members Only)
Federation Memberships
- All United States Kendo Federation– Recommended for all students as it provides liability insurance.
- Ryushin Shouchi Ryu Membership– Required for members wishing to seek rank in Ryushin Shouchi Ryu (Kobudo).

The Institute of Budo Studies has partnered with Tozando for all equipment needs, offering exceptional products, at reasonable prices, directly from Japan.
